Marilyn (Green) Talbott, 84, a longtime resident of Knox City, TX, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the O'Brien Cemetery with Rev. Chas Shira officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00p.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the funeral home, 210 Avenue A, Knox City, TX.
Marilyn was born April 21, 1933 in Ellis, Co., to Katy (Wood) and A.J. Green. She married Dan Talbott on October 6, 1951 in Houston, TX. Ranching was always Marilyn's passion. She worked as a Herdswoman for Miller Cattle Company in Arkansas until 1988. She and Dan later retired in Knox City.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Hughes and husband Gary of Post; grandson, Derek Hughes and wife Kaylee of Lubbock; great-granddaughter, Hallie Hughes of Lubbock; great-grandson, Hunter Hughes of Lubbock; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Katy (Wood) Green; father, A.J. Green; husband, Dan Talbott; infant son; and four sisters.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: The First Baptist Church, O'Brien, or the American Alzheimer's Association.
