Marian Doreece Earwood, 81, resident of Benson, Arizona, entered her Heavenly Fathers home on July 19, 2015. The Lord called her home quietly from complications of her long battle with ovarian cancer. Doreece was born in Plainview, Texas to Daniel B. and E. Doris (Tidwell) Weaver Jr. She served the Lord in music, playing piano and organ from the age 10 with her Pastor/Chaplain father, while she pioneered Southern Baptist churches in California. She also served as Nursery Director for the church for many years.
In addition to raising six children Doreece enjoyed a long successful career as a real estate broker in both California and Arizona. She worked with Roy Long Realty and opened her own office, Stage West Realty. She had an avid interest in all things Jane Austen, enjoying several trips to England, taking on an alias -- Lady D. Doreece and husband, Ken enjoyed many close friendships from their church associations, Kens Air Force service, and friendships across the pond over many years.
Doreece is survived by daughters, Linda Baugh, Laurie Baker, Melanie Earwood; son, Ken Earwood; 14 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren; and brother, Jim Weaver.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Kenneth Ralph; daughters, Becky Earwood and Allison Melendez; parents, Daniel and Doris Weaver; and sister, Marthella Kennard.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2015 at Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home in Knox City.
