Marjorie Palmetta Murphy Dunlap, 93, passed away December 18, 2015 at her residence in Lake Brownwood,Texas. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 21, 2015 at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Marjorie was born October 21, 1922, in Haskell, Texas to Donald Robert Easterling and Ida Maude (Arthur) Easterling. On September 17, 1937 she married Basil Truman Murphy, Sr. then after his death, she later married Elam Dunlap in 1955. Marjorie was a former owner of Indian Grill in Haskell, Texas and member of Eastside Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, ceramics and bowling and she was a good cook.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donald Robert Easterling and Ida Maude (Arthur) Easterling; husbands, Basil Truman Murphy, Sr., and Elam Dale Dunlap; son, Roger Dale Murphy; three brothers; and two sisters.
Marjorie is survived by her two sons, Basil T. Murphy, Jr., and his wife Sharon of Denton, Texas and Curtis W. Murphy and his wife Sandra of Lake Brownwood, Texas; step son, Jeffery Banks and his wife Ivy of Round Rock, Texas and step daughter Dalelynn Skatch of DesPlains, IL; sister, Runzez Atkinson of Lake Brownwood; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
