Martha Ann Cornett, 65, lifelong resident of Throckmorton, Texas passed away at her home, Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Throckmorton with Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the services at Throckmorton Cemetery in Throckmorton under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m., to 12 noon at the funeral home located at 107 N. Austin.
One of three children Martha Ann Murray was born October 15, 1948 to Martha Elizabeth (Fair) and Clifford Eugene Murray in Throckmorton. She married Jerry Cornett on March 29, 1969 on Swenson Ranch. Martha loved reading, crafts, knitting, crocheting and movies. She loved her chickens. Martha attended Son Seekers Sunday School class and was a member of the First Baptist Church and attended the First United Methodist Church in Throckmorton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Clifford Murray.
Martha is survived by her husband, Jerry Cornett; daughter, Jerri Ann Cornett; brother, Windy Murray; sister, Nancy Casen; nephew, Jim Cook; niece, Carla Cook; and numerous cousins.
Serving as Mrs. Cornett's pallbearers are, Steven Nixon, Robby Bailes, Glenn Moore, Chris Condron, Sloan Stevens, and Jeff Matthews.
