Martha Jean Gary, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas, passed away Tuesday morning, March 3, 2015, at Stamford Nursing Home in Stamford, Texas. Jean was 87. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas with Brother Dan Bullock officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Jean was born August 17, 1927, in Stephenville, Texas, to Fred Aycock and Grace (Carter) Aycock. She married C.E. Gary on November 11, 1968 in Alamogordo, New Mexico. Jean was a member of the First Baptist Church and her occupation was being a farmer's wife. She enjoyed sewing and driving the turnrows with her husband.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Grace Aycock and her husband, C. E. Gary.
Jean is survived by her aunt, Ima Jean Aycock; one niece, Brenda Nafus; one nephew, Gene Nafus; great-niece, Jacklyn Nafus; great-nephew, Chris Nafus; and two cousins, Bob Aycock and Debbie Brister.
