Martin Silvas

Martin Silvas, 66, a longtime resident of Haskell, Texas, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 and went to his heavenly home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, April 8, 2024, at the Haskell Foursquare Church, Haskell, Texas with Rev. Freddy Villa officiating with Rev. Bill Glass assisting. Burial will follow the service at the Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00pm, Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the funeral home, 304 N 2nd Street, Haskell, Texas.

Martin was born April 29, 1957 in Haskell, Texas to Alexandra (Arriaga) and Theodore Silvas. He was a loving, hardworking, caring husband, dad and popo. He had a heart of gold and always knew how to put a smile on everyone's face. He would always make sure his family never went without and would help anyone in need. He blessed and touched many lives.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alma Silvas of 50 years; three daughters, Bonnie Silvas, Misty Silvas, and Grace Jensen all of Haskell; four sons, Michael and Tanya Rojas of San Angelo, Texas, Martin T. Silvas and girlfriend Beth McClintock of Abilene, Texas, Matthew and AJ Silvas of Haskell, Texas; mother Alexandra Silvas of Haskell, Texas;  four brothers, Ernest Silvas and wife Maxine of Utah, George Silvas and wife Irene of Idaho, Lee and wife Mary of Haskell, Texas and Johnny Silvas of Haskell, Texas; four sisters, Tina and husband Ken Ross of San Antonio, Texas, Lola Billington of Haskell, Texas, Margie Silvas of Haskell, Texas and Alicia Arriaga of Bowling, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Theodore Silvas; two nephews Stacy Silvas, Rocky Thomas; sister Gloria Yanez.
