Mary Helen Dodd Jenkins, life-long resident of Rochester, Texas passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Baylor Medical Center in Garland, Texas at the age of 81. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Rochester, Texas. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Knox City Cemetery in Knox City, Texas under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Monday evening, September 14, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home in Rochester located at 200 Lincoln Ave.
Mary was born December 20, 1933, in Bomarton, Texas to Lebb Vernon and Kitty Glee (Snyder) Dodd. She grew up in Knox City and graduated High School in 1952. Mary married Morris Jenkins in Knox City, Texas on June 6, 1954 and they made their home in Rochester, Texas. She worked at First National Bank of Rochester as a Head cashier then retired. She was a member of Eastern Star for over 40 years and the Rochester Women's Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rochester, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lebb Vernon Dodd and Kitty Glee (Snyder) Dodd; husband, Morris Jenkins; son, Richard Jenkins; two brothers, Vernon Dodd, and Billy Dodd; four sisters, Lois Collier, Jolene Dodd, Bobbie Wells, and Nicki Pierce; and son-in-law, Brian Kinney.
Mary is survived by her three daughters, Tammie Howard and husband Derryl of Jermyn, Texas, Teresa Kinney of Garland, Texas, and Terri Klose and husband Eddie of Haskell, Texas; son, Joe Jenkins of Rochester, Texas; four grandchildren, Justin Howard and wife Kalyn of Jermyn, Texas, Kyle Howard and wife Brittany of Jermyn, Texas, Jasmine Klose of Red Oak, Texas and Jacie Klose of Haskell, Texas; three step-grandchildren, Beau Klose and wife Andrea, David Kinney and wife Lauren, and Mark Kinney; four great-grandchildren, Mollie Howard, Kodi Howard, Sadie Howard, and Levi Howard; two step-great-grandchildren, Olivia and Elodie; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
