Mary D. Magana, 75, a longtime resident of O'Brien, TX, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church, Knox City, TX with Father John Perikomalayli officiating. Burial will follow services at the O'Brien Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. A Rosary is planned for 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2019 at the funeral home, 210 Ave A., Knox City, TX.
Mary was born July 5, 1944 in Terlingua, TX to Sylvestra (Catano) and Rito Delao. She was a member of the Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Mary loved taking care of her grandchildren and helping take care of others.
She is survived by her son, Albert Magana and wife Vallia of Knox City; one daughter, Olga Magana of Abilene; four grandsons, Andrew Magana of San Antonio, Derrick Magana of Wichita Falls, Moses Dena of Wichita Falls, and Samuel Dena of Abilene; five granddaughters, Patricia Magana of Abilene, Shavonne Hernandez of Knox City, Monica Johnson of Seattle, WA, April Dickens of San Antonio, and Samantha Dena of O'Brien; 18 great grandchildren and one on the way; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sylvestra (Catano) Delao; father, Rito Delao; son, Mack Magana; and brother, Paul Delao.
