Mary Menchaca

Mary Menchaca, 80, a longtime resident of Rule, TX, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, August 13, 2021 at the St. George Catholic Church, Haskell with Father Dhass officiating. Burial will follow services at Rule Cemetery, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Rule. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00PM, with a rosary to follow, Thursday, August 12, 2021, at the funeral home, 600 Robins Ave., Rule.

Mary was born March 25, 1941 in Austin, TX to Agapita Sifuentes. She married Leonard Menchaca, Sr. on August 4, 1957 in Del Valley. Mary retired from Rule ISD after 26 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, reading devotionals & spending time with her family daily. She especially loved flowers, but not taking care of them. Mary was loved by all and never met a stranger.

She is survived by her 2 sons, John Menchaca and wife Tina of Princeton, TX, Leonard Menchaca, Jr. of Rule; 2 daughters, Cindy Campbell and husband Douglas of Abilene, Betty Limones and husband Mike of Abilene; Grandchildren, Rhonda, Stephanie, Nina, Felix, Tiffany, and Julian; Great Grandchildren, Luke, Caiton, Lyric, Lyla, Olivier, Gerard, Nate, Abcde, Aubree, & Maricia; 2 brothers, Jesse Sifuentes, Sr. and wife Santos of Round Rock, Joe Sifuentes of Burnett; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friend, Kelli Falkner.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Agapita Sifuentes; husband, Leonard Menchaca, Sr.; daughter, Jessica Menchaca; brother, Lorenzo Sifuentes; 2 sisters, Lorine Menchaca and Lupe Sifuentes.
