Michelle Ortiz - Santillan, 45, of Haskell, Texas passed away at her home on February 1, 2016. She was born June 7, 1970 in Haskell, Texas. She attended and graduated from Rochester High School in 1988. She worked as a correctional officer for Emerald Correctional Management and Jones County Sheriff's Office for a number of years. Michelle enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially during the holidays and shopping.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Cesar Santillan; daughters, Alyssa Santillian of Haskell, Texas, Brittany Martinez of Abilene, Texas and Kriselle Martinez of Haskell, Texas; her parents; Adam and Esabel Garcia of Rochester, Texas; brothers, Ignacio Ortiz and his wife Rosie of Big Lake, Texas, Felix Ortiz and his wife Renea of Abilene, Texas, Paul Ortiz and his wife Misty of Haskell, Texas, Robert Ortiz and his wife Gina of Dennison, Texas, Dustin Garcia and his wife Brandy of Abilene, Texas; step-brothers, Adam Garcia, Jr. and his wife Paula of Haskell, Texas, Paul Garcia of Abilene, Texas; sister, Jessica Ortiz of San Antonio, Texas; step-sister, Paula Hernandez and her husband Chevy of Knox City, Texas; and grandchildren, Julio and Anna Rodriguez of Abilene, Texas and Steve Lopez, Jr. of Haskell, Texas.

There will be a Memorial Service held at the First Baptist Church in Rochester, Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A meal will be provided at the Rochester Fire Station after the service everyone is invited.

In lieu of Flowers, memorials can be given in Michelle's name to Treasurers of Grace "Prison Ministries", P.O. Box 664, Haskell, Texas 79521.
