Mick Jones

Mick  Jones, 72, was born on February 1, 1953 and passed on October 23, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, October 26, 2025, at the Throckmorton Cemetery with Rev. Peter Parker officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. A visitation is planned from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home, 107 N Austin, Throckmorton, Texas.

Mick Jones was born to Evan (Tiney) and Doyleen  Jones in Paducah, Texas. He graduated from Aspermont High School in 1971 and worked with his dad at his service station.

Mick met and married Vonnie Ray and they tied the knot on July 31, 1972. They lived in Throckmorton for the last 48 years. He worked as a mechanic, welder and also worked for Throckmorton County as a road hand.

Mick loved life, his girls, grandsons and especially his greats.

Mick is survived by his wife, Vonnie of 53 years; 2 daughters, Tina Jones of Aspermont, Texas, Vonda Coleman (Casey favorite Son-In-Law) of Haskell, Texas; 4 grandsons, Todd Meador (Alicia) of Aspermont, Texas, Toby Jones  (Raven) of Throckmorton, Texas, Trey (McKayla) Meador of Aspermont, Texas, Hayden Atkinson of Albany, Texas; great grands, 3 boys and 3 girls; 3 siblings, Mike (Cynthia) Jones of Hamlin, Texas, Pam (Billy) McAnally of Stanton, Texas, Monte (Carla) Jones of Old Glory, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.
