Miguel Flores, 87, of Haskell, Texas passed away at his home Tuesday evening, September 15, 2014. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Believers Chapel in Munday, Texas with Rev. Shannon Waters officiating. Interment will take place immediately following at Johnson Cemetery in Munday under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Haskell.
One of seven children, Miguel was born September 23, 1926, in Harbor, Indiana to Josefa (Ortiz) and Jesus Flores. He married Cecilia Castorena on November 8, 1957, in Laredo, Texas. The family made their home in Goree, Texas until Miguel and Cecilia moved to Haskell 27 years ago. Miguel was retired from Cabello's Wrecking Service. He enjoyed his large family of children and grandchildren and spending time with them. Miguel also loved the casino.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Josefa and Jesus Flores; 3 brothers, Oracio, Camilo, and Jose Flores; 2 sisters, Maria de Jesus Flores, and Margarita Leyva; 2 sons, Alfredo Flores and Gilbert Flores; 1 granddaughter, Cristina Flores; and 1 grandson, Trevor Tears.
Miguel will continue to be loved and deeply missed by his wife of 56 years, Cecilia Castorena Flores of Haskell; sister, Maria Peralez from Laredo, Texas; 4 sons, Jesse (Rosa) Flores from Moorehead, Minnesota, Agustin (Cheryl) Castorena from Clairemore, Oklahoma, Miguel, Jr. (Celi) Flores from Laredo, Texas, Jose (Norma) Flores from Munday, Texas; 5 daughters, Nora Casiano (Demi) from Kansas, Missouri, Benita Flores (Tony Tervino) from Haskell, Texas, Lupe (Joe) Bejar from Munday, Texas, Graciela (Jesse) Hermosillo from Abilene, Texas, and Diana Flores from Haskell, Texas. In addition, Miguel had 41 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
