Michael Martin Casey, of Rule, Texas, passed away on the 27th day of December 2023, at the age of 41.
Mike was born on the 16th day of January 1982, to Rudy and Julie Casey Brown of Rule, Texas. Mike's survivors include his children Katelyn Casey and Jake Casey; one brother, Tommy Casey; his mother, Julie Casey Brown and stepfather, Marshall Brown.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rudy Casey; his paternal grandparents, Lamar(Daddy Mar) and Margie (Motsie) Casey; Maternal grandparents, Ira Lee (Papaw) and Betty (Granny) Carruth.
Although our hearts are broken from the sudden loss of our loved one, we celebrate Mike's life by sharing some of our memories of him. He was truly a beautiful newborn baby, with a full head of dark hair and the most beautiful eyes. His personality and sense of humor left a lasting effect on anyone who encountered him. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and brother and Jake throughout his life. The joys of his life were his little princess and his son. His favorite dog was Gismo.
Mike was quite the comedian. On one occasion, he borrowed his dad's truck to take hunting, accidentally shooting a hole in the side of his dad's new red truck. Instead of sharing that incident with his dad, he decided to fill the hole with a red gummy bear. Eventually, the gummy bear dissolved, and he was found out. One day, he continually asked his mom when she would be going swimming in her pool. Didn't take her long to realize that he had slipped a catfish in the water.
Mike is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins that loved him. His Texas cousins recall the night he was born and how he was the perfect little cousin. They grew up together in the country getting to play horses, riding bikes together, playing SCOOBY Doo, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. He was known as one of the 3 amigos. His Oklahoma cousins had many lake trips together seining for minnows, running trot lines, sleeping in their tent, jumping off the dock onto inflatable alligators, and they all got paintball guns for Christmas. He and his cousins were all so close in age they had many adventures together.
We rejoice in the fact that Mike has joined his Heavenly Father in Heaven, and we will see him again.
