Lavada Myrl Andress, 91, a longtime resident of Haskell, TX passed away February 2, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Eastside Baptist Church, 600 N. 1st E, Haskell, Texas, with Rev. Dusty Garison officiating. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Smith Family Funeral Homes, 304 N. 2nd Street, Haskell, Texas. Burial will follow services at the Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell.
Myrl was born February 20, 1932 in Decatur, TX to B.D. Kirkland SR & Katie (Holly) Wilson. On May 6, 1949, she married Vernay Andress in Haskell, TX. Myrl was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She loved her church family and Sunday school class. Cooking was her love language. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and painting.
Myrl is survived by her daughter-in-law Laura Andress of Haskell, TX; three grandchildren, Jeremy Andress of Haskell, Joseph Andress & wife Misti of Tye, TX, and Jennifer Andress of Abilene, TX; 6 great-grandchildren, Adam Andress, Allie Andress, Abby Andress, Kylee Gaura, Jaxon Gaura, and Jolee Andress; brother, B.D. Kirkland & wife Marie of Haskell, TX.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernay Andress and son, Charles Andress.
Serving as pallbearers are Jay Miller, Robert Kirkland, Brian Holmes, Dennis Stiewert, Matt Langford, and Charles Kirkland.
