Patsy Yarbrough Fowler, 89, passed away May 8, 2026, in Olney, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton, Texas. Rev. Peter Parker and Rev. Kenneth Reiter will be officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. Burial will follow the service at the Throckmorton Cemetery. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00pm, Monday, May 11, 2026, at the funeral home, 107 N Austin, Throckmorton, Texas.
Patsy was born December 14,1936 in Young County Texas to Walter and Bulah Yarbrough. Patsy graduated from the Woodson High School. Patsy met Billy Ray Fowler and were married on January 15, 1958.
Patsy and Billy Ray owned and operated the Conoco Service Station for over 30 years, she worked at Throckmorton ISD in the kitchen. She didn’t really call it work, but she loved to bake cakes for all occasions. She would get together with her mother and sisters and make quilts, and canned anything they could find. She loved spending time with the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Patsy is survived by 2 sons, Ray Fowler and wife Gayle and Gary Fowler and wife Kathy all of Throckmorton, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Mary Anne Jernigan and husband Larry, Jay Fowler and wife Ashley, Amy Schroeder, Will Fowler and wife Melissa, David Fowler, John Fowler and wife Shawnee; 2 sister in laws, Sarah Morris and Sue Thurman; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Fowler, her parents, Walter and Bulah Yarbrough; 2 sisters, Mary Lou Beaty and Margie Yarbrough; brother, David Yarbrough and a great-great grandson Wyatt Fowler.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the building fund, Throckmorton First Baptist Church or any organization of your choosing.
