Norma Lee (Tate) Bird, 84, of Haskell, Texas passed away on April 21, 2016 at Abilene Regional Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Haskell, Texas with Reverend Larry White officiating.

Norma was born on May 17, 1931 in Oklahoma to Alva Louis Tate and Evelyn Favilla (Testerman) Tate. She lived in Haskell, Texas off and on for 20 years. She married Thomas M. Bird, Jr. on June 17, 1978 in Woodward, Oklahoma and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved her family and spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, and enjoyed cooking.

Norma is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Bird, Jr. of Haskell, Texas; daughter, Kathye Wood of Haskell, Texas; son, Jim Wood, III and wife Georgia of Woodward, Oklahoma; three step-daughters, Julie Marlatt and husband Steve of Woodward, Oklahoma, Alice Henderson and husband Richard of New Mexico and Ragenna Stephens of Woodward, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Bud Tate of Mineral Wells, Texas; sister-in-law, Ruth Tate of Nampa, Idaho; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alva Louis Tate and Evelyn Favilla (Testerman) Tate. first husband, Jim Wood, Jr.; two grandchildren, Bridgett McGhee and Stevie Marlatt; and two brothers, Don Tate and Bill Tate.
