O.C. "Sharky" Hollingsworth, 86, of Rule, Texas, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2016 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m, Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the Faith Chapel Church in Rochester, Texas with Reverend Scott Hensley officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the services at Rochester Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation will be Tuesday evening, May 24, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home in Rule located at 600 Robins Ave.
O.C. was born on March 23, 1930, in Rochester, Texas to Dee Hollingsworth and Estelle (Williams) Hollingsworth. He lived in Rochester most of his life. He married Oma Jean (Brazell) on April 5, 1950 in Knox City, Texas. On June 24, 2015 she preceded him in death.
He loved telling cowboy stories, hunting, fishing, farming, ranching and catching rattle snakes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dee Hollingsworth and Estelle (Williams) Hollingsworth; wife, Oma Jean Hollingsworth; daughter, Billy Jean Hollingsworth; and three brothers.
O.C. is survived by his daughter, Jessie Green of Rule, Texas; brother, David Hollingsworth of Oklahoma; four sisters, Mae Brazell of San Antonio, Texas, Jessie Webb of Lubbock, Texas, Dorothy Carmack and Viva Ashley both of Rochester, Texas; seven grandsons; twenty-three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
