Opal Maxine (Lytle) Miller, 91, long time resident of Haskell, TX, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Unlimited Care Cottages in Spring, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 27, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Haskell, TX. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Willow Cemetery under the direction Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned for Friday, August 26, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Maxine was born on July 4, 1925, in Goree, TX, to Corbet Lytle and Vennie (Jones) Lytle. She married the late John Miller on April 6, 1947 in Haskell, TX where they made their home. She worked with children in the church nursery over 60 years.
Maxine is survived by her two sons, Harlan Miller and wife Ye of Deer Park, TX and Danny Miller and wife Linda of Spring, TX; daughter, Sherry Miller of Fort Worth,TX ; three granddaughters, Harn Askew and husband Mike of Deer Park, TX, Moon Sullivan and husband Lee and Kristen Miller of Oakland,California; two sisters, Jeanette Hennessee and husband Arlie of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Betty Andress and deceased husband Ken of San Angelo, TX, and sister in law Johnnie Lytle and deceased husband Gerald of Midland, TX;
She is preceded in death by her parents, Corbet Lytle and Vennie (Jones) Lytle; husband, John Miller; brother, Gerald Lytle; and sister, Vennie Lee Lytle Massey.
