Orvin Victor Turner

March 20, 1941 — January 31, 2015

Orvin Victor "Vic" Turner, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Hendrick Health System in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the Eastside Baptist Church in Haskell with Rev. Terry Bunch officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Monday, February 2 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Haskell located at 304 North Second Street.

O.V. was born March 20, 1941 to George Turner and Minnie Faye (Mercer) Turner in Stamford, Texas. He graduated from Haskell High School and received his Master's Degree after. O.V. loved football, flying and his church and music. He was a businessman for oil companies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Minnie Turner and his sister, Rhonda Kay Turner Rister.

O.V. is survived by his two sisters, Nola Jeanette (Turner) Hoppe and Ramah McGuire both of Abilene, Texas; four nieces, Donna Rister Moncrief, Malinda Hoppe Chapman, Kimberly McGuire, and Tamra McGuire; two nephews, Brad Hoppe and Dale Rister, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
