Pascuala Vargas Baiza, 90, a longtime resident of Rule, Texas passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023, peacefully at her home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 9, 2023, at St. George Catholic Church in Haskell, Texas. Officiating will be Father Albert Devanesan. Burial will follow the service at the Rule Cemetery, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Rule, Texas. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2023, with Rosary to follow at the funeral home, 600 Robins Ave., Rule, Texas.
Pascuala Vargas Baiza was born October 23, 1933 in Robstown, Texas to Maria (Herrera) and Leopoldo Vargas. She married Silverio Baiza on November 3, 1956 in Haskell, Texas. She loved her family, and was a great cook, always willing to help everyone. She worked hard her whole life for her family. She loved family gatherings and celebrated with a toast with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She loved to sew and make quilts for her grandbabies and great-grandbabies. She enjoyed being around all her friends and eating chimichangas from Allsups.
She is survived by her two sons, Robert Baiza and wife Rosemary of Joshua, Texas, Ramiro Baiza of Rule, Texas; daughter, Rebecca Arrieta and husband John of Anson, Texas; daughter-in-law, Theresa Baiza of Rule, Texas; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one son; two daughters; five brothers; and four sisters.
