Patsy (Pat) Ruth Smith

Patsy (Pat) Ruth Smith, 90, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 19 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Haskell with Pastor Josh Fitchett officiating. Burial will follow services at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Pat was born November 4, 1932, in Haskell to Juanita Sego Brite and William Clyde Brite. She graduated from Haskell High School in 1950 and married Huey Bledsoe in 1951. She worked as a bank-teller for several years and loved maintaining detailed records of her own finances. In 1959, Pat and Huey welcomed the birth of their daughter, Mona Claire. Sadly, Huey passed away in 1966. Pat married Emory Earl Smith in 1970 and they were married for 43 years until his death in 2013. Pat loved sewing, traveling, cooking, the Dallas Cowboys, and the companionship of her family (especially her grandchildren) and her lifelong friends.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Mona Claire Rejino and her husband, Richard of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren Maggie Rejino of Carrollton, Texas and Adam Rejino and his wife, Jessica, of Austin Texas; and sister Nancy Brite Smith of Dallas, Texas; and many family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Huey Bledsoe, husband Emory Earl Smith, and sister, Gracie Nelson.
