Paul Strickland

Paul Strickland, 68, a longtime resident of Rochester, TX, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022. A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Rochester Cemetery, with Rev. Rick Moeller officiating, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00PM, Monday, December 12, 2022, at the funeral home, 200 S. Lincoln Ave., Rochester, Texas.

Paul was born June 13,1954, in Ft. Worth, TX to Loveta (Turner) and Iva Strickland. He graduated from Rochester High School. He married Venetia (Rogers) on November 23,1977, in Rochester. He loved fishing and slot machines. His work was the thing that kept him going.

He is survived by his son, Shane Strickland of Fort Stockton; grandson, Seth Ortiz of Stamford; granddaughter, Bré Ortiz of Stamford; brother, James Strickland of Hodges; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Loveta Hearn and Iva Strickland; wife, Venetia Strickland; daughter, Tamara Diane Strickland; grandson, Andrew Axel Strickland; sister, Wanda Hearn; and brother, Gary Strickland, Sr.
