Ray Bryan White, longtime resident of Rochester, Texas, passed away Monday evening, July 13, 2015, at Medical City Dallas Hospital in Dallas, Texas at the age of 86. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Foursquare Church in Knox City, Texas under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Ray was born on October 14, 1928, to James William White and Mable Jessie Pearl (Scoggins) White in Rossville, Georgia. He was a graduate from Kirkland High School in 1948. Ray married Betty Ruth (Russell) White on June 29, 1997, at her home in Rochester, Texas. Before settling down in Rochester, he lived all over the United States. Ray loved to work and was always looking and finding something to be done.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mable White; two brothers; two sisters; one step-son, Kevin Jones; and one step-daughter, Larissa Jones.
Ray is survived by his wife, Betty Ruth White of Rochester, Texas; one son, David White of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters, Linda Mikowski of Portland, Oregon and Brenda Ellington of San Antonio, Texas; three granddaughters; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
