Raymond Garcia Andrada, longtime resident of Haskell, Texas, joined his Lord and Savior early Wednesday morning, April 22, 2015, at his home in Haskell at the age of 79. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the St. George Catholic Church in Haskell, Texas with Father Angelo officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Rule Cemetery in Rule, Texas under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Rosary is planned for Friday evening, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. George Catholic Church, located at 901 N 16th St, Haskell, TX 79521.
Raymond was born December 8, 1935, in Wilson County, Texas, to Jose Angel Andrada and Herminia (Garcia) Andrada. He married Tomasa Andrada on May 11, 1957 in Rule, Texas. Raymond was a member of the St. George Catholic Church in Haskell, Texas. He was active in many different organizations such as the Haskell Volunteer Fire Department for nine years, Haskell School Board for ten years, Kiwanis for seven years, and the Haskell Chamber of Commerce for many years. Raymond was the owner of the J.R. Radiator Shop for 60 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Herminia Andrada and one sister, Teresa Ramirez.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 57 years, Tomasa Andrada; two daughters, Elisa Abila and her husband Arthur, and Terry Rodriquez and her husband Felix; two sons, John Andrada and his wife Janie, and Carlos Andrada and his wife Nora; two brothers, Joe Andrada and Basilo Andrada; two sisters, Irene Maldonado and Susie Perez; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
