Reba Mottee (Baker) Jones, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Hendrick Hospital in Abilene, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Woodson, Texas with Rev. Charles West , Rev. Justin Glover and Rev. Ricky Mitchell officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Woodson Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned for Thursday, January 7, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home located at 107 Austin, Throckmorton, Texas.
Reba was born on March 13, 1931 in Woodson, Texas to Claude Everett Baker and Addie Leah (Allison) Baker. Reba married J. D. "Judd"Jones in Woodson, Texas of August 26, 1950. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Woodson, Texas. Reba farmed and ranched with her husband. They lived in Oklahoma, Kansas then moved back to Texas in 1962. She loved gardening, her pets, cattle and made the best peach cobbler.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claude Everett Baker and Addie Leah (Allison) Baker; husband J.D. "Judd" Jones; sister, Alice Marie Gilbreath; and niece, Deborah Sue Gilbreath.
Reba is survived by her son, Jerry Jones and wife Cheryl of Graham, Texas; daughter, Janice (Jones) Devenport of Woodson, Texas; five grandchildren, Brandon Jones and wife Scottie of Rosharon, Texas, Avery (Jones) Eenigenbung and husband Landon of Bellville, Michigan, Tyrell Devenport of Woodson, Texas, Orrin Devenport of Elbert, Colorado, and Kaitlynn Devenport of Austin, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Henry Jones and Ryder Eenigenbung; one great-grandson, Baby Boy Jones, on the way; niece, Sharon Gilbreath of Seguin, Texas; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
