Rex Milton Huston

Rex Milton Huston, 73, passed away on Friday, February 12th, peacefully to be with the Lord. Visitation is planned for Wednesday evening, February 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home located at 107 N Austin, Throckmorton, Texas . Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.

Rex was born to Florence (Parrott) Huston and Robert Orval Huston of Throckmorton, Texas. Rex was raised in Throckmorton out in the country. He graduated from Throckmorton High School and continued his education at Texas Tech in Lubbock. He lived a full life, from writing songs for George Strait and Gary Stewart, being a road manager, owning  a liquor store and western shop, and managing the family business to finally reitiring and enjoying every moment of the country life in Throckmorton, Tx.

At Rex's request, there will be no funeral services, but instead a celebration of life at his local farmhouse this upcoming spring.

Rex is preceded in death by his parents, Florence and Orval Huston and his older brother Reuel Huston as well as his beloved dog whom he loved beyond words, Miss Kitty.

He is survived by his son, Cody Huston and his wife Mandy Huston of Throckmorton, Texas; three grand children, MaKynnah Kellison of Wichita Falls,Texas, Cheyanne Huston of Wichita Falls, Texas and Jase Huston of Burleson, Texas; Two great grandchildren Avery Kellison and Logan Travis of Wichita Falls, Texas. A brother,  Raymond Cecil Huston and his wife Rae Jeanne Huston of Plano, Texas.  Two nephews, Rob Huston and wife Peggy Huston and Justin Huston and one niece Melissa Cramer.

Memorials can be given in Rex's name to a charity of your choice.
