Ricardo "Ricky" Ruiz

Ricardo "Ricky" Ruiz, 55, passed away January 21, 2018 in Austin, TX. Condolences may be paid at Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell, from 8:00-5:00p.m., Friday, March 23, 2018. A memorial prayer service will be held at 1:30p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the funeral home, 304 N. 2nd St., Haskell, TX, with committal service to follow at Willow Cemetery, Haskell.

Ricky was born December 10, 1963 in Rotan, to Ernestina (Villa) and Bernardo "Ben" Ruiz. He worked as a truck driver, and enjoyed traveling and being outdoors.

He is survived by his three brothers, Michael Anguiano, Noel Ruiz both of Porterville, CA, and James Ruiz of El Paso; three sisters, Diana Ruiz of Porterville, CA, Virginia Paluscio of Garland, and Nancy Ruiz of Las Vegas, NV; two uncles, Joe Ruiz of Haskell, and Frank Ruiz and wife Leticia of Mt. Pleasant; and nine aunts, Gloria Capetillo, Lucy Anguiano and husband Andy, Rose Guadalcazar and husband Jesse all of Haskell, Rufina Garcia of Kyle, Eugenia Trevino of San Antonio, Irene Segura and husband Julio of Poolville, Mary Ruiz of Weatherford, Janie Ramirez of Abilene, and Trina Flores and husband Pedro of Corpus Christi.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bernardo "Ben" Ruiz; sister, Naomi Ruiz; grandfather, Ermenejildo Ruiz; grandmother, Julia Ruiz; and three aunts, Sara (Ruiz) Segura, Consuelo Ruiz, and Dominga Ruiz.
