Robert Lamour Harris

Robert Lamour Harris, 74, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the Rule Cemetery with Mr. Ford Cole officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell.

Robert was born September 6, 1946, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Francis and George Harris. Robert was a graduate of Thomas Edison High School and the University of Tulsa where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and on the Dean's List. On April 22, 1973, he married Linda Faye Simpson in Rule, Texas. He was an Eagle Scout in the Boys Scouts of America and longtime member of the Tulsa Brookside Lions Club, once serving as the president. Robert loved enjoying life to its fullest through fishing, telling jokes and tall tales, and spending time with his granddaughters. Robert always had his best friend Puppy by his side.

He is survived by his son, John Harris of Midland and his daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Harris, and granddaughters, Caroline and Emily, of Salt Lake City; sister, Kathy Proffitt and her husband John Proffitt of Tulsa; nephew Keith Proffitt and his wife Bethany Proffitt of Tulsa; and nephew Jason Proffitt of Tulsa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Simpson Harris; father, George Harris; mother, Francis (Jones) Harris; niece, Stacey Proffitt.
