Roberto "Bobby" Deltoro Vasquez, 66, of El Campo, TX passed away September 3, 2017. He was born on February 14, 1951 to Victor and Corina in Derby, TX.

Beginning with Bobby's Oilfield Service in Central Texas and ending with Fairways Exploration & Production in the Gulf Coast and throughout the lower 48, Bobby built a groundbreaking and storied career in the oil and gas industry. He was a member of St. Robert's Catholic Church. He loved the fast life and showed it through his ownership of race cars, race horses, and speed boats.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Whitley Vasquez, of El Campo and their daughter, Cara Vasquez, and her husband, Zach Lamberth, of Houston; daughter Jennifer Sabo, and her husband, Greg, of Englewood, FL; son, Robert Allen Vasquez, of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; father, Victor Vasquez, Sr. of Knox City; brothers, Joe Vasquez of Fort Worth, Rueben "Benny" Vasquez, and his wife, Mary, of Knox City, Ricky Vasquez and his wife, Diane, of Knox City, and Jamie Vasquez and his wife, Faby, of Knox City; sisters, Sylvia Espinosa and her husband, Johnny, of Knox City, Mary Aguirre and her husband, Ramon, of Abilene and Norma Jones and her husband, Alex, of Wylie.

Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Corina Vasquez, and brother, Victor Vasquez, Jr.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rhineland, TX. Burial will follow services at the Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City.

Pallbearers are Jack Waddell, Peyton Lundy, Harold DeLeon, Tanis Contreras, Hector Gutierrez, Delvin Phelps, Darren Albus, and Ken Lipscombe. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby's sons-in-law, Zach Lamberth and Greg Sabo; his grandsons, Michael, David, and Ryan Sabo; and friends, Scott Stephenson, Matthew Charkalis, George Charkalis, Gary Lamberth, and Roland Marion.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
