Rocky Strickland

Rocky Strickland, 67, a longtime resident of Knox City, TX, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Foursquare Church, Knox City with Rev. Gary Schnable officiating. Burial will follow services at the Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. A visitation is planned from 6:00-7:00p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at the funeral home, 210 Ave A., Knox City, TX.

Rocky was born March 10, 1951 in Knox City, to Martha Naoma (Hines) and Leon Ardmore "Curly" Strickland. Rocky was a very talented artist.

He is survived by his son, David Strickland of Manassas, VA; five brothers, Jim Clayton of Allen, TX, Lloyd Clayton of Bridgeport, TX, Bobby Strickland of Knox City, Charlie Sparks of New York, and David Strickland of Marrietta, GA; and five sisters, Margaret Sparks, Susan Strickland both of Tampa, FL, Darlene Beleau of Grants Pass, OR, Rosa Struthers, and Melba LaBeaou both of California.

He is preceded in death by his mother Martha (Hines) Strickland; father, Leon Ardmore Strickland; and three brothers, Harold Clayton, Larry Clayton, and Leon Ardmore, Jr.
