Roger Dale Sharp

Roger Sharp died on Monday, December 23, 2024, at his home in Bryson, Texas at the age of 80 years. Roger was born on November 27, 1944, in Knox City, Texas to Dallas and Eunice (Wilkerson) Sharp.

A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00PM, January 25, 2025, at the Rochester, Texas Cemetery, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Rochester.

He married Karen Adams on January 14, 1967, in Chico, Texas. Together they made their home in Jack County, Texas for the last 48 years. Roger graduated with the class of 1963 from Rochester High School in Rochester, Texas. Roger was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge #320 where he served as a Past Master, and the Order of the Eastern Star #390, where he served as a Past Patron. He was the delivery man for Mrs. Baird's Bakery for many years and served two terms as the Jack County Treasurer. Roger had recently been working as a security guard for The Harbor at PK.

Roger is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Melvin and Lola Mae Sharp, Travis and Loretta Sharp, Susie and Marvin Goetz, Syble and Bob Stone; brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Craft; and parents-in-law, John H and Nelda Adams.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Karen Sharp of the home; sons, Kevin Sharp of Bryson, Texas, and Mark Sharp and fiancé Margaret Martinez of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Haley Sharp of Austin, Texas, and Hunter Sharp of Denton, Texas; sisters, Stella and Flan Nichols of Gatesville, Texas, Helen Jean and Rick Bowling of Chico, Texas; sisters-in-law, Beverley and Larry Potts of Granbury, Texas and Nancy and Gary McCully of Huntsville, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews. Roger will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
