Ronald Glenn Burson, 71, of Abilene, TX passed away Monday, November 28, 2016. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, Haskell, TX. Burial will follow the service at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell.
Ronald was born April 30, 1945 in Huntington Park, CA to Attie Doris (Parks) and Eunice Carl Burson. He was raised in California and moved to Texas upon retirement, living in Haskell and Abilene. He retired from Lockheed Martin and later worked part time at Lowe's in Abilene. He loved baseball, playing in senior leagues with co-workers from Lockheed Martin, bowling, going to horse races, traveling to Las Vegas, and playing Bingo.
He is survived by his sister, Rosa Lea Melton of Terrell; nephew, Keith Melton of Terrell; niece, Kathy Melton of Terrell; fiancé, Corliss Reinwald of Abilene and her sons, Sean Chambers and Alex Reinwald; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Howard Melton.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Rescue the Animals SPCA of Abilene, Abilene Hospice, and the American Cancer Society.
