Rosie Nevarez

Rosie (Ledesma) Nevarez, longtime resident of Knox City, Texas passed away Sunday morning, February 8, 2015 at United Regional Heath Care in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Knox City Cemetery in Knox City under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Rosary will be Tuesday evening, February 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home located 210 Avenue A.

Rosie was born September 18, 1947 to Federico and Juanita Ledesma. She married Emiliano Navarez, Sr. on April 1,1971. Rosie was a member of the Santa Rosa Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents Federico and Juanita Ledesma; four brothers, Fred Ledesma, Jr., Manuel Ledesma, Juan Ledesma and Jessie Ledesma; two sisters, Margaret Rodriquez and Manuela Ledesma.

Rosie is survived by her husband, Emiliano Nevarez, Sr; three daughters, Laurie Najera, Gloria Estraca and Erica Nevarez; three sons, Emiliano Nevarez, Jr., Margarito Nevarez and John Nevarez; 8 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Tony Ledesma and wife, Anita of Hollis, Oklahoma; three sisters, Reyes Barrientez of Benjamin, Texas, Yolanda Ledesma of Rule, Texas and Mary Vargas and husband Vicenteo of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
