Roy Herrera, 47, was called home on Thursday, May 28, 2026 to be with the Heavenly Father. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June, 2, 2026, at 11:00am, at the O'Brien cemetery with Margie Fabio officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00pm, Monday, June 1, 2026, at the funeral home, 210 Ave. A, Knox City, Texas.

Roy was born on June 22, 1978 in Haskell to Adela Valencia Herrera and Ruperto Herrera, Jr. Roy loved listening and singing his heart out to Mexican music. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and his wife Felicia. They enjoyed watching the Cowboys play. Roy also loved his Rizza and she loved her uncle Roy so much too.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Felicia; daughter, Sara; step kids, Brandon, Jaycee, Desarae, and Johnathan, of Turpin, Oklahoma; mother Adela Valencia Herrera of Knox City; father, Ruperto Herrera, Jr. of Abilene; younger sisters, Celia and Jermaine Williams of Saginaw, Tx; baby sister, April Herrera of Knox City; 5 half sibling, Burt Herrera, Tony Herrera, Devon Flye of Knox City, Jamie Flye of Munday, Warren Flye of Midland, Tx; 7 nephews, Kaleb of Midland, Jakob and Khalil of Knox City, Mykael of Abilene, Kyrie and Xavier of Knox City and Khylan of Munday; 7 nieces, Khloe Ann and Kyrizza of Knox City, Isabella and Amelia of Saginaw, Myrakle of Abilene, and Aariyah and Zoey of Munday.

He is preceded in death by his daughter Zenayda Rae Herrera; grandparents, Guadalupe and Mary Valencia, Guadalupe and Ruperto Herrera; brother Bobby Herrera; mother-in-law, Maria Rodriquez; cousins, Adrain Andrade, Richard Espinosa, and Sgt. Eric Valencia.
