Ruby Jewel (Drinnon) Zahn, 91, passed away on February 4, 2016 at Kindred Nursing Home in Grapevine, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Haskell, Texas with Dr. Larry Tarver officiating. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Sunday evening, February 7, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 304 N. 2nd Street, Haskell, Texas.
Ruby was born September 27, 1924, in Weinert, Texas to Jesse Jefferson Drinnon and Ara Elsie (Rainey) Drinnon. Ruby married J.W. Zahn on November 8, 1941 in Haskell, Texas. They made their home in Hurst, Texas. She was a loving mother and mama, devoted wife and doll collector and loved to travel.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Jefferson Drinnon and Ara Elsie (Rainey) Drinnon; spouse, J.W. Zahn; grandson, J.W. Morgan; great-grandson Zachary Wells; two brothers, Buddy and Russell; three sisters, Nancy, Elsie and Etta.
Ruby is survived by her daughters, Kitty Epperson and her husband Foy of Hawley, Texas, Ann Ward and her husband Norris of Colleyville, Texas, Debra Mariano and her husband Ray of Aubrey, Texas and Gail Wilson and her husband Ricky of Hurst, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Reba Yarborough and Jessie Trentham.
