Rusty O'Neal Oldham was born in Andrews, Texas on March 21, 1980 to Harry Eugene and Tawana Kathryn Oldham. He died working in Texarkana, Texas of Monday, January 21, 2019 of a heart attack. Even though he was the youngest of three, he was the best "big" brother his sisters could have. Rusty spent as much time as he could outdoors during his childhood, especially when the family moved across from Lake Sweetwater and he could fish and swim constantly with his dog Bo. His love for fishing and the water continued throughout his life. Having graduated from Sweetwater High School, he spent his years after school working and playing hard. He took pride in his work and was especially proud of specializing in extremely large concrete slab pours.
Rusty was a beloved son, brother, husband and father. Together he and the love of his life, Shellie, had two beautiful and intelligent daughters, Celeste and Madison. Rusty shined most in life as a dad. He was never prouder than when he was talking about his girls, whether it was their achievements on the softball field, in school or their catch of the tiniest of fish. Rarely without a smile, he was a giving and helpful friend to anyone in need. Rusty was a chosen brother and a friend to many.
Rusty was preceded in death by his father and his sister Hally Gray.
He is survived by his mother, wife Shellie Harrell, daughters Celeste Oldham and Madison Oldham, sister Jenni Langley, nephew David Gray, niece Ruby Gray, grandmother Betty Taylor and family and friends too numerous to name.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00p.m., Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Throckmorton Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton.
