Ruthie Nell Langford

Ruthie Nell Langford, longtime resident of Rule, Texas, passed away early Friday morning, June 14, 2013, at Haskell Memorial Hospital, Haskell, Texas. Mrs. Langford was 83. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Weinert with Rev. Dan Bullock officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the services at Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. The family invites friends and family to gather Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home in Haskell for visiting and fellowship.

Ruthie Nell Griffis was born August 16, 1929 in Anson, Texas to Harvie Dean and Lenora Hazel (Garrett) Griffis. She married R.C. Langford on May 6, 1948 at the Foursquare Church in Weinert. The couple lived in Rule for more than 59 years. Mrs. Langford was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Rule where she spent many years playing the piano.

Mrs. Langford will be remembered for her kind heart and gentle ways and always wearing a smile.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvie and Lenora Griffis; 2 sisters, Merle Alexander and Bennie Horan; father and mother-in-law, C.V. and Ruby Langford.

Ruthie is survived by her husband of 65 years, R.C. Langford of Rule; son, Danny Langford and wife Gaynell of Rule; daughter, Carolyn Sisson and husband Jack of Duncan, Oklahoma; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Griffis and wife Gracie; brothers-in-law, Robert F. Horan, Harley Langford, Doyle Langford; sisters-in-law, Margie Cardwell, and Opal Langford.

Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Langford are Chad Stulir, Brad Stulir, Shannon Langford, Brandon Langford, Heath Tibbets, and Tye Stulir.
