R.V. Earles, 99, a long time resident of Paint Creek, TX passed away Friday, January 26, 2018. A funeral service will be held at 2:00p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the First Baptist Church, Haskell. Burial will follow services at Howard Cemetery, Paint Creek under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Haskell.
R.V. was born June 15, 1918 in Haskell to Martha Elizabeth Earles, and John L. Earles. He married Violet Earles on November 12, 1943 in Roswell, NM. He loved farming, and still drove a tractor at age 98. He loved his family and helping out at the church until he was unable to. R.V. was the subject of the mural recently painted in Haskell.
He is survived by his son, Bob Earles and wife Debbie of Haskell; two daughters, Judy Earles Cooper and husband Bill of Deleon, and Sandy Earles Erwin and husband Don of Bridgeport; granddaughter, Lezlie Michael; three grandsons, Eric Erwin, Aaron Earles, and Cole Earles; two great-grandsons, Ryan McWhorter, and Wesley Erwin; great-granddaughter, Ashleigh Erwin; and six great-great grandchildren, Blair Earles, Lawson Earles, Phoenix McWhorter, Reese Earles, Easton Earles, Penelope Mandi McWhorter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and John Earles; wife, Violet Earles; great-granddaughter, Mandi McWhorter; two brothers, Johnny and Jody; and two sisters, Veda, and Ruby.
