Samuel Fred Bohannon, former resident of Benjamin, Texas, and most recently of Maricopa, Arizona, passed away March 21, 2013 in Chandler, Arizona. Mr. Bohannon was 68. Family will welcome friends from 6-7 p.m., Thursday, April 4 at the funeral home located in Knox City.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2013 at Benjamin Cemetery in Benjamin with Rev. Tom Carter officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Knox City.
Samuel was born in Knox City, Texas on August 26, 1944 to James L. and Pernicie Ila (Jackson) Bohannon. He lived in Benjamin most of his life and moved to Arizona 6 years ago to be closer to his daughter, Samantha. Samuel was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Methodist Church. In his leisure time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Bohannon is preceded in death by his parents, James L. and Pernicie (Jackson) Bohannon; and a brother, Raymond Bohannon.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Samantha Albaugh of Maricopa, Arizona, and Kimberly Armstrong of Amarillo, Texas; 1 son, Randall Bohannon of Parker, Colorado; 1 brother, Roger Bohannon of Benjamin; 4 granddaughters, Savannah, Kaytlynn, Brooklynn, and Chloe; 2 nieces, Bonnie Howell and Jamie Brumley; and 1 nephew, Lonnie Bohannon.
