Santos Baiza

Santos Baiza, 58, of Rule, TX, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the St. George Catholic Church, Haskell with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Burial will follow services at the Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Rule. A visitation is planned for 6:00-7:00PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at the funeral home, 600 Robins Ave., Rule, TX. A rosary will follow.

Santos was born November 1, 1962 in Rule, TX to Pascuala (Vargas) and Silverio (Cheve) Baiza. He married Theresa (Menchaca) on December 21, 1985 in Haskell, TX. Santos's faith in God was very important to him. He was a man of God and a very active member of St. George Catholic Church of Haskell, TX. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Santos started as a plumber when he was 18. He later helped manage Allison Farm Supply Store in Rule. He then became a self-employed plumber after the supply store closed in 1987. He began his career as a Postal Carrier with the Rule Post Office in 2004 while continuing plumbing. In 2019, he retired as a plumber with 39 years experience serving many customers and friends. He loved his family. He was always willing to give a helping hand to whoever needed it. He loved to travel with his family and friends. He loved to play all kinds of games and to have fun. He worked very hard all his life to provide for his family. Santos had a favorite saying, "trust in God. It's all in God's hands." In the end of his life, he stayed strong in his faith and trust in God. There is no doubt he is thriving in the Lord's Kingdom. His wife, family and friends will miss and remember him for the rest of their lives.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Baiza; a son, Gabriel Baiza and wife Alannah of Rule; a daughter, Sirena Baiza (his sunshine) of Rule; mother, Pascuala Baiza of Rule; two brothers, Robert Baiza and wife Rosemary of Joshua, and Ramiro Baiza of Rule; sister, Rebecca Arrieta and husband Juan of Anson; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Silverio Baiza; and his two sisters.
