Mary "Shadella" Foster passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her home in Chico, Texas. She was 51. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2014 at Willow Cemetery with Bro. Morris Johnson officiating. Arrangements were made under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planned for Sunday evening, January 12 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home located at 304 N. 2nd Street in Haskell.
Shadella was born June 27, 1962 in Breckenridge, Texas to Daisy (Rushing) Horan. She grew up in Weinert and married Craig Foster on September 4, 1981 in Haskell. She was a waitress and chef for many years, but most recently a homemaker. Mrs. Foster enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her brother, David Boling.
Shadella is survived by her husband of 32 years, Craig Foster of Chico, Texas; 2 daughters, Savannah Powers and husband Brandon of Quanah, Texas, Ashley Foster of Haskell; mother and father, Daisy and Fred Horan of Weinert; brother, Douglas Boling of Texarkana, Texas; 2 sisters, Penny Kaye and Christy Hawkins both of Weinert; 2 grandchildren, Joshua Powers and Briley Powers; grandmother, Ruby Kunce of Haskell; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
