Sharon Anet (Curtis) Gober

Sharon Anet (Curtis) Gober, 83, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023. A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 11:00AM, at the First Methodist Church in Throckmorton, Texas. Burial will follow the service at the Throckmorton Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00PM, Wednesday, June 7, 2023, 107 N Austin, Throckmorton, Texas.

Sharon was born in Dallas, Texas to Travis and Oleta (Smith) Curtis on July 5, 1939. They moved to Throckmorton in 1947 where she graduated High School in 1956. She attended TCU and Midwestern University, graduating in 1966. She married Charles Gober on June 14, 1958 and taught school in Wichita Falls, Irving, Spring Branch, Midland and Throckmorton.

Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and three grandchildren; Corie Ray, Cassie Lee and Chase; and her dear friend Lois Jean Timmons.

She is survived by her four children, Clay Gober and wife Paula of Graham, Charles Travis Gober and wife Elaine of Woodson, Beth Gober, and Sharla Gober and finacé Wayne of Throckmorton; five grandchildren, Braidi, Cat, Myka,  Joey and Jake Gober; two great- granddaughters, Gemma and Keira; great-grandsons, Ari, Travis and sister, Cindy Long; and her sweet little pup Ellie.

Memorials can be made in Sharon's name to the Virginia House in Graham or The American Heart Association.
