Sonja Lee (King) Caldwell

Sonja Lee (King) Caldwell, 60, a longtime resident of Rochester, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Rochester Cemetery with Randy Hollingsworth officiating, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Rochester. A visitation is planned for Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home, 200 S. Lincoln Ave., Rochester, Texas.

Sonja was born May 21, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to Linda (Leachman) and Raymond King.  She married Ronny Caldwell on October 18, 1980 in Stamford, Texas. She loved quilting and crafting. She enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports.

She is survived by her daughter, Kristie Caldwell of Rule, Texas; two sons, Aaron Lynn Caldwell and wife Martha of Rochester, Texas, Jeffery Lynn Caldwell of Rochester, Texas; three grandsons, Bryson, Waylynn, and Justin; four granddaughters, Taylor, Kaylee, Leslie, and Arena; two great grandchildren, Ronny and Raelynn; father, Raymond King, Sr. of Eustace, Texas ; two brothers, Raymond King Jr. and wife Jody of Wylie, Texas and Roy Lee King and wife Melissa of Forney, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronny Caldwell; step-mother, Darlene Templeton; mother, Linda Leachman Hughes; and step-father, Jerry Hughes.
