Stanton Dow Liles, Iii

Stanton Dow Liles, III, was born September 13, 1946, in Seymour, TX, and passed from this life on October 8, 2021, in Wichita Fall, TX. A graveside service will be held at the Throckmorton Cemetery Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 10:00AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at First United Methodist Church, Throckmorton, TX, with Rev. Jay Gage officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Throckmorton.

Stanton graduated from Throckmorton High School and West Texas A&M University. Stanton and Greta (Nelson) married in Canyon,TX, 53 years ago. Stanton served in the National Guard. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening and caring for his many pets, especially his Jack Russell "Mr Bojangles," who was joined at his hip. Stanton was a rancher and farmer that lived in Throckmorton County all his life. Stanton was a man of the people that loved his hometown and tried to help any way he could. His other endeavors include oil, gas production and banking. He had a love for traveling and traveled the world with his wife Greta. He served on numerous boards and was a philanthropist.

He is survived by his wife, Greta of Throckmorton; one daughter, Aimee Hale and her husband Ben of Albany; one son, Juston Liles and spouse Rachel of Archer City; seven grandchildren, Peyton, Luke, Noelle, Seth, Jill, Jake, and Abi; one sister, Ladelle Boyd; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Stanton Liles, Jr.; one sister, Diane Liles Wright; grandparents, S. D. Liles, Sr. and Beluah Liles, Johnny Yates, and Hill Allen.
