Esteban H. "Steve" Reyes, 97, of Knox City passed away Monday morning, December 3, 2012 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Abundant Life Christian Fellowship Church with Bro. Tex Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday evening, December 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home located at 210 Avenue A, Knox City.

Esteban Reyes was born on May 12, 1915 in Alpine, Texas to Jose and Nellie (Holgin) Reyes. He married Benita Flores. Mr. Reyes was a mechanic and owned a Phillips 66 service station in Knox City. "Steve" served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged in October of 1945 as a Fireman First Class.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Manuela Reyes; his wife, Benita Flores Reyes; 2 sons, Steve, Jr., and Rueben; 2 sisters; 4 brothers; 2 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his 2 sons, Steve J. Reyes of Watauga, Joe Daniel Reyes of Pearland; 4 daughters, Nellie Lewis of Knox City, Beatrice Caram, Mary Ann Palma, and Stella Brand all of Wichita Falls; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
