Thelma "Swede" Kittley

Thelma Elizabeth "Swede" Kittley, 85, of Rule, Texas passed away at her home in Rule early Saturday morning, August 11, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:30, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Rule with Rev. Leonard Malone and Mr. John Greeson officiating. Burial will be at Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home of Rule.

Thelma Elizabeth Erickson was born January 5, 1927 in Duluth, Minnesota to Don Erickson and Helga Lundquist. She married Billy Dave "Pete" Kittley in Rule on June 3, 1946. Pete and Swede made Rule their home raising 2 wonderful boys on the Kittley Farm.

She is preceded in death by her parents Don and Helga Erickson.

Swede is very lovingly survived by her husband of 66 years, Billy Dave "Pete" Kittley, Sr. of the home in Rule; 2 sons, Billy Dave Kittley, Jr., and his wife Pat, and James Ray all of Rule; 2 grandsons, Billy "Dave" Kittley, III, and Stephen Kittley; 2 granddaughters, Tre' Ann Krupnick and husband Matt, and Sarah Heidenheimer and husband J.G.; 3 great-grandsons, Jacob Cooper Krupnick, and Zack and Ryan Heidenheimer.

Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Kittley are Joe Harold Cloud, James Cloud, Roy Letz, Glen Pierce, Sammy Simpson, and Larry Simpson.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Johnnie Franklin and Lynn McGee for their most kind care and also to Dr. Wm. McSmith and his staff as well as the staff of Haskell Memorial Hospital for their kindness and compassion during this extremely difficult time.

Memorials can be given in Swede's name to the First Baptist Church of Rule, 1001 Union Ave., Rule, TX 79547.
