Theresa Ann Otts

Theresa Ann Otts of Throckmorton, Texas passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at Abilene Regional Hospital in Abilene. Mrs. Otts was 70. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2014 at Smith Family Funeral Homes Chapel in Throckmorton. Burial will take place immediately following the services at Woodson Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Visitation is planed for Sunday evening from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

One of four children, and the only girl, Theresa Ann Smallridge was born December 6, 1943 in Abilene, Texas to Ida Elizabeth (Peables) and Richard Samuel Smallridge. She graduated from Novice High School and then from Nursing School as a L.V.N. She married Granvel Otts in Throckmorton and Mrs. Otts worked for many years with Dr. Beasley. Theresa enjoyed cooking and crocheting and was a member of the Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Richard Smallridge; her husband, Granvel Otts; a son, Bobby Lee Otts; and a brother, Richard Smallridge.
Theresa is survived by her daughter, Denice Gibson and husband James; 2 sons, Ricky Otts and wife Stacy, and Amon Otts; 2 brothers, Guy Smallridge and wife Retta, Dwight Smallridge and wife Nancy; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Otts is Randy Hantz, C.J. Hantz, Jody Moore, Trevor Moore, Bobby T. Thompson, and Ron Morton.

If desired, memorials can be given in Theresa's name to St. Jude's Children's Fund or the Veterans Association.
