Tim Burson

January 5, 1947 — February 27, 2013

Timothy Curtis Burson, lifelong resident of Haskell, Texas passed away Wednesday evening, February 27, 2013 at Haskell Memorial Hospital with his family at his side. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Packwood and Rev. Jim McCurley officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Willow Cemetery in Haskell under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.

One of 4 children, Tim was born on January 5, 1947 in Haskell to Raymond Herbert and Dorthy Estelle (Curtis) Burson. He married Linda Sampson on August 7, 1965.

Tim proudly served on the Board of Directors for Haskell County Farm Bureau and Farmers Co-op Gin of Haskell; he fulfilled a 4 year term as Haskell County Commissioner; was a passionate and loyal minister for Treasures of Grace Ministries; and faithfully worked the Cross Country Emmaus Walks.
Tim was a retired farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church of Haskell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Estelle Burson; a son, Scotty Burson; daughter, Andrea Burson; and a brother, Tony Burson.

Those left behind to honor Tim's memory are his wife of 47 years, Linda Burson of Haskell; 2 sons, Jimmy Burson and wife Missy of Haskell and their children, Jordan, Taylor, Lane and Logan; and Patrick Burson and his wife Angela of Clyde and their children, Mason, Brynn and Luke; 2 sisters, Wanda Rogers of Haskell and Sherry Carter and husband Chick of Abilene.
Serving as pallbearers for Tim are Joe Beach, Joey Kimbrough, David Adams, James Ivy, Stacy Bridges, and Andy Griffith.
