Tom David Whitford

Tom David Whitford, 77, of Knox City, TX, was reunited with his wife in Heaven on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, March 6, 2023 at the Knox City Cemetery with Rev. Aaron Massey officiating, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation is planned from 3:00 to 5:00PM, Sunday, March 5, 2023, at the funeral home, 210 Ave. A, Knox City, TX.

Tom was born February 27, 1946 in Knox City, TX. to Wilma (Messer) and David Whitford. Tom liked car shows and movies and could always tell the best jokes and stories. When he was younger he was a self taught mechanic and he enjoyed working on cars. He liked to socialize with his friends and family, having coffee and eating dinner.

He is survived by his son, Robert B. Whitford and girlfriend Shannon Fallen of Mascoutah, IL.; cousin, Ginger Shoffstall of Wyoming; two sister-in-laws, Janie Krcik of Tulsa, OK., Charlotte Dixon of Munday, TX.; brother-in-law, Jerry Krcik of Tulsa, OK.; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilma and David Whitford; wife, Martha Whitford; mother-in-law, Jewel Ford; and father-in-law, Robert Ford.

Tom Whitford and family were very grateful and appreciative for the love and kindness shown by all members of the First Baptist Church of Knox City. Tom truly enjoyed fellowship with his friends and the family truly appreciates all of them.

Tom was always so thankful for the Cancer Service Network and the love and care they showed to his wife, Martha, during her battle with cancer. Robert requests that memorials be made to: Cancer Service Network 1218 N 4th St. # 213, Abilene, Texas 79601.
