Tommie M. Espinosa, 73, a resident of Knox City, TX for the last 70 years, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020. A private graveside service will be at 2:00PM, Monday, April 6, 2020 at the O'Brien, TX cemetery, with Rev. Bobby Acosta officiating. Services are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Knox City. There will be no public viewing or visitation, however online condolences can be shared with the family at www.smithfamilyfh.com.
Tommie was born December 22, 1946 in Edroy, Texas, to George and Tomasa Martinez. She married Pete Espinosa on August 27, 1963 in Benjamin, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Knox City. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and her Bingo club. She loved being around people, teaching Sunday school, but mostly, she loved her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Pete Espinosa of Knox City; son, Teddy Espinosa and wife Melissa of Knox City; three grand daughters, Michelle Espinosa of Vernon, Emily Espinosa, and Taley Espinosa, both of Knox City; grandson, Nicholas Espinosa of Corpus Christi; great-grandson, Roman Espinosa of Corpus Christi; daughter-in-law, Adela Espinosa of Corpus Christi; two sisters-in-law, Mary Vasquez of Knox City and Janie Moreno of Stamford; two brothers-in-law, Wesley Espinosa and wife Anita and Daniel Espinosa, both of Knox City; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother Tomasa Martinez; father, George Martinez; son, George Espinosa; five brothers, George, Malako, Santario, Jesse and Steven; and two sisters, Mary and Lola.
